French Scientist Announces Singularity Now Real

The Associated Press is reporting that an international team of scientists has announced that the long-awaited and hotly debated “Singularity” has been achieved. Dr. Renee Deschamps, who headed up the top-secret team, held a carefully-worded press conference this morning to announce that the first human hybrid, commonly known as a cyborg had been developed through the work of dozens of scientists who had been working on the project for the past 26 years.
The scientists’ work had been kept under tight security because not everyone is enthusiastic about the possible consequences of the development. Prominent bioethicist, Dr. Charles Rogers, of UCLA, has publically expressed grave concerns about the potential for disaster in creating human hybrids which could quickly surpass human intelligence capabilities, yet could not be invested with any human-identified morality or values. “Any such hybrids would have the potential of being the equivalent of intellectually-driven sociopaths,” Rogers said, “with capabilities no purely human being could match or defend against.”
Rogers is not alone in his concerns. Before his death in 2023, Stephen Hawking expressed similar thoughts and predicted that, if developed, cyborgs would eventually become the dominant life force on earth as they began a runaway reaction of self-development, and entered into a level of communication and advancement far beyond anything that ordinary humans could even begin to fathom.
Deschamps and his team said cautiously that “Sy, the human hybrid, was developed through a merging of rapidly developing human nano-technologies with human intelligence, and biology. As had been theorized some 50 years ago at the dawn of the 21st century, the exponential advances in technologies, paralleled a rapidly developing understanding of the workings of the human brain, allowing Artificial Intelligence to approach and now, to surpass, the capabilities of the human mind. Sy, combines the processing speed, memory and instant learning abilities of a computer, with the creativity and ability to recognize patterns found in the human brain. He possesses the strengths of both yet none of the weaknesses, thus providing the possibility of unprecedented growth and learning potential, millions of times greater than the capability of the human brain.
Sy is also a cybernetically-enhanced entity with synthetic enhancements that support his human elements and will keep them functioning at a superior level of performance and durability, so, his developers say he will never be subject to DNA faults that cause diseases like cancer in non-enhanced human beings. It is believed that because of these enhancements, Sy will live indefinitely, and certainly many times the projected lifespan of a non-enhanced human.
On behalf of the team of scientists and researchers, Deschamps said that there are no plans at the moment to develop other cyborgs, but they do plan to watch Sy very carefully to chart his development and fine-tune his technologies as new advances are made.
